During the fall, members of Thousand Oaks High School's smaller ensembles: our three Concert Bands, the Percussion Department and Color Guard, come together to form the Thousand Oaks Lancer Marching Band. Together, this mix of instrumentalists (brass, woodwind and percussion) and our color guard form a renowned field show performance unit known for dramatic exhibitions, strong musical themes, and lavish presentations.

The Lancer Band is a performing member of serveral marching circuits including: the Southern California School Band and Orchestra Association (SCSBOA), the Marching Band Open Series (MBOS), and the Bands of America (BOA) where the Lancers have been Grand National Seimi-Finalists two times, placing them in the top 30 high school marching bands in the US. In 2005, the Lancer Band was awarded the prestigious Al Castronova Esprit De Corps Award. This great honor is bestowed to one band nationally each year and depicts a group who exemplifies the ideals of musicality, sportsmanship, team work, and citizenship of an outstanding band program.
